This two-year full-time, face-to-face Higher Diploma is awarded by Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU), with graduation arranged by ICBT. It combines electrical, electronic and electromagnetic theory with hands-on lab work and prepares graduates for engineering roles in industry, research and innovation. The first year covers electrical engineering, analogue and digital electronics, engineering mathematics, programming for intelligent systems, signals and systems with AI, and communication systems. The second year covers embedded systems and VLSI design, instrumentation and control, power system design, electrical machines and drives, industrial automation with PLC and SCADA, and an engineering design project. Intakes are listed in March and September. Progression is to the BEng (Hons) in Electronic and Electrical Engineering at the University of Sunderland.
A credit pass (C) or better for English at the GCE O/L, or ICBT Academic English Studies, or IELTS 6.0 overall with no component below 5.5, taken within two years of the course start date (or equivalent).
