How Uplift Works
Uplift is an independent education comparison and discovery platform built to help Sri Lankan students explore, compare, and understand their education options clearly and transparently.
Our role is to organise education information in one place, explain realistic pathways, and help students make informed decisions based on their own goals and eligibility.
What Uplift Is (and Is Not)
Uplift is:
- A comparison and discovery platform for education options
- A place to explore recognised institutions, courses, and pathways
- A neutral source of structured education information
Uplift is not:
- An admissions office
- A decision-maker for universities
- A platform that favours institutions in exchange for hidden payments
Students always remain in control of their choices.
How We Compare Education Options
Uplift compares education options using objective, structured information, including:
- Entry requirements and eligibility criteria
- Qualification level and progression pathways
- Programme structure and study mode
- General cost and duration indicators
- Academic alignment with student profiles
Our comparison tools are designed to help students understand what is possible and realistic, not to promote a particular institution.
Neutrality and Fairness
Uplift does not favour or prioritise any institution over another in its standard listings.
Education options are presented based on relevance, eligibility, and information completeness, not commercial influence.
We do not manipulate rankings or comparisons to benefit specific institutions.
Sponsored Listings and Advertising
To support the operation and development of the platform, Uplift may feature sponsored advertisements or promoted listings from partner institutions.
When this occurs:
- Sponsored listings are clearly labelled as "Sponsored"
- Sponsored content is visually distinguished from standard listings
- Sponsorship does not affect comparison logic or eligibility results
Students can always identify when content is paid promotion. Transparency comes first.
Referrals and Fees
When a student chooses to apply for or request information about a course through Uplift, we may refer that enquiry to the relevant education provider.
In some cases, Uplift may receive a referral fee from the institution for successful referrals.
Referral arrangements do not influence how institutions are listed, compared, or ranked on the platform.
Our Partnerships
Uplift works with recognised education institutions and providers that meet academic and regulatory standards.
Some institutions partner with Uplift to:
- List programmes on the platform
- Receive student enquiries
- Promote specific intakes through sponsored placements
Partnerships help maintain the platform but do not guarantee preference, recommendation, or ranking advantage.
Counselling and Admissions
Uplift does not provide official counselling, admissions decisions, or offer letters.
All counselling, admissions advice, and enrolment processes are handled directly by universities and institutions on an individual basis, ensuring accuracy and accountability.
Compliance and Ethics
Uplift supports lawful, ethical, and transparent education pathways.
We operate in compliance with applicable Sri Lankan laws and regulations and work only with recognised education providers. We do not promote shortcuts, unethical practices, or misleading claims related to education or visas.
Why Students Can Trust Uplift
Students use Uplift because:
- Comparisons are clear and unbiased
- Sponsored content is openly disclosed
- Information is structured, not sales-driven
- Decisions remain student-led
Our responsibility is to inform, not influence.
Continuous Review and Accuracy
We regularly review platform data, institution information, and user feedback to improve accuracy, clarity, and relevance.
Education information changes. Transparency requires constant updating.
