TL;DR. Achievers International Campus offers the OTHM Level 7 Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership. It is a 6-month, 120-credit qualification set at master's level on the UK Regulated Qualifications Framework. Entry is any bachelor's degree, or at least five years of work experience including two at managerial level.

Apply now or read the programme page: Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership at Achievers.

Managers often reach a point where technical skill stops being the thing that moves them forward. The next step asks for strategy, managing people and reading the numbers. A postgraduate diploma is a short way to build those skills and, if you choose, to keep going toward a master's or an MBA.

What the qualification is

The OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership is regulated by Ofqual in the UK and sits at Level 7 on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which the course page describes as equivalent to master's degree level. It carries 120 credits.

It is a diploma, not a full master's degree. The course page explains the difference: after the diploma, you may progress to a 60-credit dissertation stage at a UK or international university partner to complete a full master's degree or MBA, with established progression arrangements for advanced standing.

Other postgraduate programs at Achievers

Achievers lists several postgraduate options. The programs below let you see the full set the campus offers at this level, from diplomas to a project management MSc and an MBA top-up.

What you will study

The first year lists six compulsory modules in Semester 1.

  • Strategic Human Resource Management

  • Strategic Management

  • Strategic Leadership

  • Advanced Business Research Methods

  • Strategic Financial Management

  • Strategic Marketing

How the modules fit together

Read together, the modules cover the functions a senior manager has to understand: people, strategy, money and markets. Advanced Business Research Methods is the one that prepares you for the dissertation stage if you continue to a master's or MBA.

What the course page says it builds

The course page describes advanced competencies in strategic decision-making, leadership, organisational development and performance management. It combines theory with practical application, aimed at professionals preparing for senior leadership roles.

Who can apply

There are two entry routes on the course page.

  • Any bachelor's degree, or

  • A minimum of five years of work experience, including two years at managerial level.

You also need a C pass in G.C.E. O/L English, or an equivalent. This second route matters for experienced managers who never completed a degree. If that is you, collect proof of your managerial years, such as employer letters and job titles, before you apply.

Duration

The course page gives the duration as 6 months. The study mode is not recorded on Uplift, so ask Achievers whether classes run on weekdays, weekends or online.

Fees and intakes

The Uplift catalogue does not list a fee for this program, and no intake dates are on record. Ask Achievers for the current fee, any payment plan and the next start date through the programme page. Compare the total cost of the diploma plus the dissertation stage if you plan to finish a full master's degree.

Preparing your application

If you apply with a degree, have your certificate and transcript ready. If you apply on the work-experience route, gather your proof early: letters from employers, job titles, dates of service and a description of your managerial duties. A clear record of two managerial years is what turns an application from borderline into complete.

Also prepare your O/L results sheet, because the English pass is a stated requirement. If you do not hold it, ask Achievers what equivalent they accept.

How the diploma helps at work

Because the modules cover people, strategy, finance and marketing, you can use the diploma to move from running one team to understanding the whole business. Managers who study part way through a career often find the research methods module the most useful, because it teaches how to test a claim before acting on it.

Is a diploma or an MBA the better step?

The answer depends on what you need from the qualification.

  • If you want a faster, lower commitment step that adds master's-level credit, the diploma fits.

  • If your goal is the full master's or MBA title, plan for the dissertation stage as well, because the diploma alone is not a master's degree.

  • If you are not sure, the diploma lets you start and decide on the dissertation later.

Check the progression terms in writing before you pay, including which partner universities are available and how the 120 credits are recognised.

Questions to ask before you apply

  1. Which university partners can I progress to, and when do I choose?

  2. How many of the 120 credits count toward the master's or MBA?

  3. What are the class days and the study mode?

  4. What is the total cost, and are instalments available?

PS. If you have the experience but not the degree, the work-experience route is the reason this diploma exists, so start gathering your documents now. Apply now when you are ready.
