TL;DR: A marketing degree in Sri Lanka can be a three-year UK-awarded degree taught locally, a four-year honours degree from a Sri Lankan degree awarding institute, or an HND that tops up later. On Uplift today you can compare four undergraduate marketing degrees and two postgraduate options. The right route depends on your A/L results, how fast you want to start work, and whether you want a local or a UK award.
Marketing is one of the few degrees where you can see your work in the world while you study. If you enjoy people, ideas and numbers in roughly equal measure, it is a practical way to build a career without leaving home.
The hard part is telling the programs apart. This guide lines up the routes on Uplift so you can compare them on the same points: length, who awards the degree, entry rules and the fee where the institute has published it.
The three main routes into marketing
1. A three-year degree awarded by a UK university, taught in Sri Lanka. You study at a local campus, but the certificate comes from the partner university in the UK. These usually take three years full-time.
2. A four-year honours degree from a Sri Lankan degree awarding institute. These follow the local four-year honours model. KIU, for example, appears on the Ministry of Higher Education list of recognised degree awarding institutes.
3. An HND first, then a top-up. A Higher National Diploma lets you start with a shorter qualification, then add a final year to reach a full degree. This suits students who want to work sooner or spread the cost.

What the entry rules look like
The Esoft BA (Hons) in Marketing asks for three A/L passes or an equivalent foundation qualification, and it also takes students with an HND or other Level 5 qualification straight into Year 3. Its course page lists modules such as Marketing Processes and Planning, Business and Business Environment, and Leadership and Management.
KIU's four-year Bachelor of Management Honours in Marketing follows the local honours structure. Open the Bachelor of Management Honours in Marketing at KIU University page for its current entry rules.
If you want the HND route, the Asian Institute of Business & Science lists a BTEC HND in Marketing. Ask the institute which top-up degrees it leads to.
Three years or four years: which suits you
Choose a three-year UK-awarded degree if you want to graduate and start work sooner, and you are comfortable with a UK university's assessment style.
Choose a four-year local honours degree if you want more time for internships and a research project, and a degree from a Sri Lankan degree awarding institute.
Choose an HND then a top-up if you want a qualification in hand early, or you plan to work while you study.
