TL;DR: A business management degree in Sri Lanka usually takes three or four years, and you can also start with an HND, a foundation diploma or a short diploma. Uplift lists business degrees from five partner institutes, including UK-awarded degrees taught in Colombo and four-year honours degrees. Match the route to your A/L stream, your English results and your career goal, then check the full fee before you apply.
Business suits students from every stream, leads to jobs in almost every industry, and can later take you into an MBA or a professional qualification.
The hard part is the choice: general degrees, specialist degrees, diplomas, HNDs and foundation programs, often with similar names. This guide sorts the options on Uplift into clear routes.
What you study in a business management degree
Most programs cover the same core in the first year, then let you lean towards an area you enjoy.
Core subjects: management principles, accounting, economics, marketing, business law and organisational behaviour.
Later subjects: strategy, finance, human resource management, operations, digital business and entrepreneurship.
Applied work: case studies, group projects, presentations and, in many programs, a final research project.
If you already know you want accounting, marketing or human resources, a specialist degree can suit you better than a general one.
