TL;DR Human resource management courses in Sri Lanka on Uplift run from an eight-week online HR analytics certificate to a four-year honours degree and a part-time MBA. The certificate suits people already in HR, the degree suits school leavers, and the MBA suits managers with work experience.
This guide sets the routes side by side on entry, length and award. Browse the business study area and the human resources management study area for the live list. The partner programs below come from KIU University and ESOFT Uni.
What are the human resource management courses in Sri Lanka?
The programs listed today cover a short certificate, an honours degree and a master's. Open each course page for the current entry rules, because institutes update them.
Which HR course suits a school leaver?
Start with an honours degree
The Bachelor of Management Honours in Human Resource at KIU University is a 4-year full-time degree. KIU lists the entry rule as at least 3 simple passes in any stream at one sitting of the GCE Advanced Level, or an equivalent qualification. It covers the people side of a business, from hiring to employee relations.
If you want to compare HR with other business degrees first, read our HR management degree guide.
Check the fee and the intake on the course page
The KIU degree page shows no tuition figure and no future intake date at the time of writing. Ask KIU for both before you apply, and treat any number you hear elsewhere as unconfirmed until the institute puts it in writing.
Which HR course suits someone already working?
Add data skills with a short certificate
The Certificate Course in HR Analytics at KIU University runs for 8 weeks online. KIU asks for a basic understanding of HR concepts, and familiarity with Excel or basic data tools helps but is not required. Our HR analytics course guide explains what the modules cover.
Move up with an MBA
The MBA in Human Resources at ESOFT Uni is a part-time program awarded by London Metropolitan University, with listed tuition of LKR 790,000 in total. ESOFT asks for a relevant undergraduate degree or an equivalent professional qualification, plus typically 2 or more years of work experience in an HR, management or professional role. English language proficiency may be required. The MBA in Human Resources guide goes through it in detail.
How do the HR routes connect?
The routes stack. A school leaver can start with the honours degree, add the analytics certificate while working, and return for an MBA once the work experience rule is met. Someone already in a people role can skip straight to the certificate or the MBA.
All three programs sit in the business area, so you can also look at wider options through the KIU University page or the ESOFT Uni page.
