About this course

This three-month part-time certificate from the IIT Professional Development Unit meets on Sundays from 9.00 am to 12.00 pm, online or face-to-face in Colombo. Twelve units explain blockchain basics, decentralised networks and ledgers, blockchain types, block creation, consensus algorithms and mining, cryptocurrency and tokens and NFTs. Two lab sessions use Ethereum/EVM chains and Stellar, followed by Web3 use cases and the future of the technology. Software engineering students, people with basic programming knowledge and industry associates are the stated audience, with registration capped at 20.
