About this course

This three-month part-time certificate from the IIT Professional Development Unit gives school leavers and workplace beginners a broad grounding in information technology. Sessions run on Saturdays from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm with hands-on work. Ten modules include the fundamentals of programming, operating systems, computer networking, database systems, computer architecture and hardware, PC maintenance and support, internet technologies, and cyber security, data protection and ethics. The final module covers MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access. IIT lists school leavers, students planning undergraduate study and anyone who needs computer skills for work or business as the target audience.
