Fundamentals of Data Science is a three-month, 48-hour course from the IIT Professional Development Unit. It is instructor-led in Colombo, and distance learning is also available. Eight modules start with an introduction to data science, then data cleaning and preprocessing, exploratory data analysis and visualisation, feature engineering, supervised and unsupervised learning, natural language processing and an introduction to deep learning. Applicants need basic computer literacy, high-school mathematics, an interest in AI and their own laptop. IIT lists school completers, graduates, professionals, research students and entrepreneurs as the audience. The page gives no start date, only continuous new intakes.
