BSc (Hons) FinTech with Data Analytics

About this course

The BSc (Hons) FinTech with Data Analytics is a four-year, full-time degree awarded by the University of Westminster, UK, and recognised by the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka. It is offered through the IIT Business School. The programme is for students who are interested in finance and also want to understand how data and emerging technology are changing it. Year 1 covers business computing, financial skills, introductory finance, mathematics for finance, and the principles of FinTech, blockchain and cloud computing. Year 2 moves to computational finance, financial market microstructure, financial modelling and statistics, cryptocurrencies and blockchain, digital business and big data management for finance. Students who want more industry or international exposure can take an optional Professional Placement Year or International Experience Year. The final academic year covers advanced data analysis, forecasting and predictive analytics, investments and portfolio management, machine learning, digital analytics and international banking. IIT states that you do not need to be an experienced programmer.
