BEng (Hons) Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering

About this course

The BEng (Hons) Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering is a four-year, full-time degree awarded by Robert Gordon University, UK, and recognised by the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka. The programme joins foundations in computing, mathematics and engineering with practical work on building complete AI solutions. Students work with machine learning, data engineering, cloud computing, distributed systems and MLOps, learning to design, deploy and manage scalable AI applications. Year 1 covers databases, computational mathematics, programming, computer systems, communication and web technology. Year 2 turns to machine learning, artificial intelligence, advanced mathematics, data engineering and AI systems deployment. Year 3 combines year-long industrial training with a data engineering group project, natural language processing, computational intelligence and deep learning. Year 4 centres on an individual research project, AI entrepreneurship and research trends. Delivery is through lectures, laboratory sessions, workshops, projects and research.
