About this course

The BSc (Hons) Business Data Analytics is a four-year, full-time degree awarded by the University of Westminster, UK, and recognised by the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka. It draws on three disciplines: business management, data science and information systems. The early modules cover database design, business computing, applied mathematics, statistical modelling and accounting and finance. In the second year you move to data visualisation, business analytics and the data science project life cycle, and choose one optional module such as data engineering or machine learning and data mining. Year 3 is a compulsory, credit-bearing 12-month industrial placement. The final year includes a research project, operational research and optimisation, big data analytics and two optional modules. The programme is aimed at students who want to collect, prepare, analyse and present business data to support decisions.
