About this course

This six-month certificate is Curtin Colombo's accelerated foundation for engineering. It is aimed at students who have completed A-Levels but fall short of the entry requirements for the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) programmes. The single semester combines Academic and English Communication II with Engineering Mathematics II, Physics II and Chemistry II. Compared with the one-year engineering foundation, it skips the first stage and starts at the second-stage units. The page lists the Honours degrees in Civil and Construction, Electrical and Electronic, Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering at Curtin Colombo as the destinations. It also names Computer Systems Engineering and Electrical Power Engineering, which it says are available only at Curtin Australia.

Engineering stream: 6 points in A-Levels. The page gives 3 points for the other disciplines.
A pass in the aptitude test and in the compulsory placement test for English and Mathematics.

Payment options

Degree fees are published in Australian dollars per semester, with two semesters a year, and apply to degrees completed in Sri Lanka.

Local and international fee rates are listed separately for bachelor's degrees.

Foundation certificates are priced in Sri Lankan rupees: Rs. 475,000 per semester (Rs. 950,000 in total) plus a Rs. 10,000 application fee, as listed for March 2026.

PhD fees are AUD 9,000 per year full-time and AUD 4,500 per year part-time.
