Awarded by
Edith Cowan College
The Edith Cowan College (ECC) Foundation Program is the entry-level pathway at ECU Sri Lanka, also listed for the Kandy campus. ECC describes it as equivalent to upper secondary school (Year 12) and university foundation programmes, preparing students for the first year of selected Edith Cowan University bachelor's degrees. There are two streams of the same length, price and credit points. The General stream suits a broad range of degrees. The Science stream is aimed at students who want STEM subjects, particularly engineering. Both include academic English, intercultural studies, introductory mathematics, computing and integrated science, and students choose three electives from options such as introductory programming, marketing, project management, physics, chemistry and applied mathematics (Science stream). The programme is 8 units over 8 months, with four hours of class per unit each week and continuous assessment through tests, assignments and case study analysis. Language, literacy and numeracy support is available. Students who complete it meet the entry requirements for all bachelor's programmes at ECU Sri Lanka, subject to the required marks.
