TL;DR: Colombo International Campus courses on Uplift centre on two steps: one-year foundation diplomas you can start after O/Ls, and HNDs in computing and business you can start with 2 A/L passes. CIC teaches at Dudley Senanayake Mawatha, Colombo 08, and most HNDs run for 18 months in a hybrid format. This guide lists every CIC program on Uplift and who each one suits.

Some students want to jump straight into a three-year degree. Others want to build up in steps: a foundation first, then a diploma, then a degree. Colombo International Campus, known as CIC, is set up for the second group.

Here is what CIC offers on Uplift, how the programs connect and how to choose your starting point.

CIC at a glance

  • Campus: 24/1 Dudley Senanayake Mawatha, Colombo 08.

  • Program types: foundation diplomas and Higher National Diplomas.

  • Fields: information technology, computing, cyber security, networking, AI, business and accounting.

  • Typical HND length: 18 months, hybrid.

  • Entry to HNDs: 2 A/L passes in any stream, or a recognised foundation.

Every CIC program on Uplift is listed below, with an Apply now button on each.

Step one: foundation diplomas after O/Ls

If you have O/L results but no A/Ls, or A/Ls that did not go to plan, a foundation is the first step.

A foundation is designed to get you ready for an HND or a degree. Our guide to the foundation programme in Sri Lanka explains how foundations work across campuses.

Step two: HNDs in computing

CIC lists a wide set of computing HNDs, each asking for 2 A/L passes in any stream or a foundation in IT or computing:

  • HND in Computing (Software Engineering), listed at one year, hybrid. The course record covers full-stack development, databases, cloud computing and AI basics, with internship and placement support.

  • HND in Computing (Cyber Security), 18 months, hybrid.

  • HND in Computing (Network Engineering), 18 months, hybrid.

  • HND in Digital Technologies (Artificial Intelligence Solutions and Applications), 18 months, hybrid. This one also asks for O/L passes in Mathematics and English.

  • Pearson BTEC HNDs in Software Engineering, Network Engineering and Networking, awarded by Pearson.

Step two: HNDs in business

For students heading into management or finance, CIC lists three business HNDs, each 18 months and hybrid:

Entry is 2 A/L passes in any stream or a foundation in business. The entrepreneurship route suits students who plan to run or grow a family business.

How the steps connect

Put together, CIC offers a ladder:

  1. O/Ls, then a 12-month foundation diploma.

  2. The foundation, or 2 A/L passes, then an HND.

  3. The HND, then a top-up year to complete a bachelor's degree.

CIC's own Uplift listings cover steps one and two. For step three, ask CIC which top-up degrees accept its HNDs, and where you would study them. Our guide to the top-up degree in Sri Lanka explains what to look for.

Who CIC suits

  • Students who want to start soon after O/L or A/L results without waiting for a university intake.

  • Students who want a hybrid timetable that leaves room for work.

  • Students who are sure about computing or business but want to build up in clear stages.

Fees are not yet listed in the Uplift catalogue for CIC programs, and the intakes shown have passed. Check the current fee and next start date with CIC on each course page.

Questions to ask CIC before you enrol

Write these down and take them to your first conversation with the campus:

  1. Who awards this HND, and is it a Pearson BTEC Higher National?

  2. How many days a week are on campus, and how many are online, in the hybrid format?

  3. Which top-up degrees accept this HND, and can I study the top-up in Sri Lanka?

  4. What is the full fee, and can it be paid in instalments?

  5. When is the next intake, and what is the application deadline?

  6. What internship or placement support is included?

Clear answers to these six questions will tell you more than any brochure.
