BSc (Hons) Information Technology in Cyber Security (4 Years)

About this course

This four-year full-time honours degree in Information Technology specialises in cyber security. ICBT issues the final certificate, and the programme is taught at the Colombo campus with a May intake. The first two years build the IT base: computer systems, programming, databases, web development, networks, software engineering and statistics, with early modules in cyber security principles and AI essentials. Year three turns to network security, cyber security and cryptography, cyber laws and governance, cloud computing, Internet of Things, digital forensics, blockchain technologies and ethical hacking. In the final year students take research methods, emerging trends, a business start-up module, cloud security and enterprise security management. The degree ends with industrial training and a cybersecurity research project.
