About this course

The course is hands-on and starts with the human body and measurements before moving to the basic blocks. No formal qualification is mandatory, though O/L and basic English are preferred. Learners draft a ladies bodice, basic skirt, men's shirt block and trousers for ladies and men, then practise style lines and dart manipulation, sleeve and collar types and a saree jacket, plus sewing techniques, seams, pressing and finishing. English-medium classes are offered at Kirulapone NIC, over four months. The fee is LKR 50,000 plus LKR 2,000 for registration, and the page does not name an awarding body.
