A six-month, 240-hour bridging certificate in English, Sinhala or Tamil for people who lack the minimum entry qualifications for the IBSL Diploma in Banking and Finance.
Offered by
Institute of Bankers of Sri LankaThe Certificate in Banking and Finance (CBF) is a bridging programme from the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka. It is designed to lay a foundation for people who want a professional career in banking and finance but do not meet the minimum entry requirements of the Diploma in Banking and Finance (DBF). The programme is 240 hours with a minimum study period of six months, and can be followed in English, Sinhala or Tamil. Four compulsory modules cover the banking and finance environment, economics and the business environment, accounting and finance, and business communication and professional development. Students must sit and pass all four to complete the programme. IBSL lists a certificate on completion. The page shows a fee of LKR 24,000 but also says course fees are charged as per the subjects, so the exact amount should be confirmed with IBSL. The page lists an April 2026 start that has passed, so no intake date is published here.
