Higher Education

Lasantha Jayawardena is the founder of Prosper Global Education. He arrived in Australia in 2009 as a Sri Lankan student at Swinburne University of Technology, went on to complete an MSc in Technology Management at Staffordshire University (UK) and an MBA in International Business at the University of Colombo, and built a 15-year career in Sydney as a Senior Business Analyst across Commonwealth Bank, Westpac, and Suncorp. In 2025 he founded Prosper Global Education to help ambitious Sri Lankan students and working professionals navigate the same path — choosing the right university, securing visas, and turning an overseas degree into a real career. He writes from both sides of the journey: as someone who lived it, and as someone who now guides families through it. Based between Sydney and Colombo.

Sandeepani Wickramasinghe is the co-founder of Prosper Global Education. She studied at Curtin University in Australia, completing a Bachelor of Information Technology, and built a decade-long operational career in Sri Lanka — first as a Project Manager at the Ministry of Defence, one of the country's most process-disciplined institutions, and then as a Production Manager at MAS Holdings, recognised globally for engineering-grade operations standards. In 2023 she co-founded Prosper Global Education with Lasantha Jayawardena to help ambitious Sri Lankan students and working professionals study abroad with precision rather than volume — applying to two or three carefully matched universities instead of ten or twenty. Sandeepani leads admissions and the daily review that decides which applications go out. She writes from the operations side of the journey: the side that turns a student's profile into an offer letter. Based in Colombo.

Team Uplift is the editorial team at Uplift, the Sri Lankan study pathways platform built for everyone, from school leavers to working professionals. The team covers every stage of study, from foundation years, certificates and diplomas to degrees, postgraduate programs, doctorates and short courses, across many study areas. We follow the programs students search for most, scholarship opportunities, and updates from universities, institutes and professional bodies, alongside government and exam announcements. Every factual claim links to the official source behind it, and the team says plainly when a detail is still changing or has not yet been confirmed. To compare programs and the institutes that offer them, use the program pages on Uplift.
